Cruisin’ down the street in my’64 jockin the freaks, clockin the dough. Welcome back cruise peeps! Best Life Cruise is back with more cruise adventures and experiences. This specific cruise was different because I went with co-workers/friends which was incredibly fun and rewarding. We work in the healthcare industry and look forward to plenty of relaxation, fun activities, and quality time spent together. On May 14th, 2016, my friends and I embarked on Carnival Freedom which was a seven-day cruise. This cruise was a Cozumel Plus Exotic West Carribean cruise which stopped in, Belize, Honduras, and Cozumel.
Carnival Freedom departed from Port Of Galveston which was very convenient for all of us because; we all lived in Texas at that time. All four of us decided to book a balcony cabin. That was the more feasible route for everyone especially since this was our first time reserving a room with a balcony. The total cost for four adults on a seven-day cruise, with a balcony room was $877.50 per person. That price included port fees and tip as well. We rented a Chevrolet Transverse so all four us would be comfortable riding together along with our luggage to Galveston. The cost for renting the chevy transverse and parking the suv at the port was $192.50 for each person. The drive from Dallas Texas to Galveston Texas was five hours.
We were extremely excited once we dropped our luggage off at Carnival Freedom baggage center and, presented our boarding passes before walking onto the ship. Once we were on the ship we walked to the lido deck to grab lunch and talked about which activities interests us. One thing that is my least favorite thing is the Carnival emergency drill but it is very necessary. The second day on the ship is sea day and brunch is always provided on days at sea. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed brunch and we attended a variety of events and shows that whole day. My favorite activity was watching people perform when it was karaoke night.
The first island port that Carnival Freedom stopped at was Belize. The previous night before we encouraged our guy friend to explore on his own as he expressed that he wanted to book his own excursion through Carnival. The rest of us decided to have a girls day and we agreed upon cave tubing in Belize. My girlfriends and I found a local islander to be our tour guide for the day. We were extremely excited because none of us had ever been tubing before let alone in Belize! Cave tubing in Belize is a great way to experience the incredible beauty of the country’s underground rivers and caves. We arrived at Nohoch Che’en Caves. Before we took the plunge and went cave tubing we made sure to wear comfortable water shoes that fit snugly while floating in the river. We packed our personal items in a locker that we rented for the day. We were given a life jacket and, our own individual tube as we hiked through the caves to the river. I was amazed by the structure of the cave and the beautiful river while floating and listening to the tour guide informed us on the history of the caves. The cave tubing excursion lasted for four hours and only cost $40 per person. We thanked and tipped our tour guide for his services and driving us back to the ship on time.
The second stop was Mahogany Bay. The four of us found another local in Honduras to show us the gorgeous country and home to some amazing islands. From the beautiful coral reefs of Roatan to the untouched beaches of Guanaja were speechless due to alluring sights. That day we wanted to relax on the beach and have lunch at this mom and pop cafe. I remember looking out on the beach while eating delicious seafood and asking my friends why they didn’t want to record me acting like Beyonce in the “Drunk In Love”video. It would’ve been funny and fantastic my hair was cut into the bob hair style anyways. They did not want to be bothered with me, and my foolishness that day so I called them party poopers.
The third and final stop was Cozumel. On the last stop we caught a cab to take us to Club Cozumel Caribe. Cozumel Club Caribe is a beachfront resort located in the beautiful Caribbean island of Cozumel. The resort was the perfect destination beach getaway with its white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and abundant natural beauty. Two of my friends went snorkeling. My friend and I relaxed in the pool as we people watched and talked. Once our friends were done snorkeling they joined us in the pool and we all decided to eat lunch there. The fee to enter the resort was about $45 which included snorkeling and reserving a lounge chair on the beach. After lunch we all walk back to the beach front one more time and swam in the ocean. I’m not that great of a swimmer but I can sure float on water.
